FARISH Multiple Units

The first DMU was introduced in 1982, 2 & 3-Car Class 101 DMUs in BR Green, BR Blue, BR Blue/Grey and BR White/Blue liveries. The original units were powered by the motor bogie, this led to the same issues as the HST with poor running and stalling across points, later models has a complete motor chassis that did improve performance.

In 1986 an AEC GWR railcar was introduced in three liveries, the GWR Chocolate/Cream variant outlived the BR Green and BR Crimson/Cream by many years.

In 1988 the BR White/Blue DMUs were discontinued and it was 1992 before new liveries were produced; this being a 3-Car NSE unit and a Limited Edition 3-Car Strathclyde unit.

The last Farish produced DMUs were Class 158 2-Car units in Regional Railways livery and the Class 159 3-Car unit in NSE livery.

The Class 101's were at times available in un-powered versions, the Class 158 had a dummy 2-Car set as well.
